Your Tire Stop - The Mechanic Spot

Tire Repair, Balancing, Rotation!

Your tires are the only thing between you and the various roadways you navigate daily. The average tire is designed to last between 50,000 and 60,000 miles—but you must have your tires inspected regularly. This includes visually inspecting your tires and tread yourself as well as having your mechanic take a look at your tires when in for your oil change, scheduled vehicle maintenance, and repairs. You want to keep an eye on the tire tread to ensure all tires are wearing evenly, on both the inner and outer edge. If one tire is wearing faster than others it may be a sign that your wheels are out of alignment. Rotating your tires every 6 months or 6,000 miles will help to prolong the life of your tires. Minor punctures can sometimes be repaired if caught early enough. We can even show you how to check your tire pressure which will improve your fuel efficiency and extend the life of your tires.

When purchasing one or more new tires, they can’t just be put on your vehicle. They must be fitted, measured, and balanced on a balancing machine. This will ensure that weight is evenly and accurately distributed. Without balancing you may feel excessive vibration when you drive. While all new tires need to be balanced some tires will need to be balanced during or in-between rotation.
